Pentecost

Gazing up toward the sky the Disciples all stood, Jesus had been lifted up to Heaven as they all knew He would. A question then was asked as to what they were doing, standing there mouth open wide with troubled thoughts in their mind still brewing. The two men dressed in white then announced, this same Jesus will come back in like manner on this very mount.

Remembering then what Jesus had said, they went to Jerusalem to wait in the upper room where they were led. Addressing then the elephant in the room, Judas who betrayed Jesus bought a field where he met his doom. But this was done so that scripture would be accomplished, to remove any doubt, yes, it had to be abolished.

But with Judas gone the twelve were incomplete, so they prayed to the Lord for this need He would meet. Casting lots as was the custom that day, Matthias was chosen, the Lord had shown them the way.

And when the Day of Pentecost had fully come, a mighty wind had blown, and they knew where it had come from. It came down from Heaven and as it blew in that room, tongues of fire rested on each of them, they were fully consumed. Speaking then with a language they had never known; God had given them a gift and it started with a groan. It came out of their bellies, flowing out like living water, those around them even heard them speaking with raucous laughter. Confused and amused the men outside gathered round, they didn't know what to make of this joyous and weird sound. But men from all nations could understand their tone, they were speaking their language and to them Jesus then became known.

Hearing them speak the wonderful works of God, some would then mock while others just thought it was odd. Your all just full of new wine someone would jest, but Peter stood up and gave his protest. These here are not drunk as you suppose, but they were really only drunk in the Holy Ghost. Expounding the news of the Resurrection of Jesus, Peter gave them a lesson and proved all his thesis. For this gift was given so the unbeliever would see, the Power given by God to man to help all nations finally be made free.

This gift that was given on that eventful day, can indeed be given to you in that very same way. For the gift has been given to you and all who are afar off, so don't be one of those who would laugh at it and scoff. For you read about it in the Word and you have no excuse, to be endued with His Power and be effective in His Kingdom use.

Happy Pentecost
