Instructions On Giants
Who is this that would challenge the armies of the living God, the
audacity of this uncircumcised philistine with all his facades. Does he not
know, is he unable to understand, the forfeiture of his life as it has been
placed in my hand. Through the grandiose bellows of blasphemy which he spoke, a
well know fire that welled up within me awoke. Though belittled and shamed for
my age and size, I knew Who's I am, he was in for a surprise. And though I was
ridiculed by those I knew well, when I get done with this philistine there will
be an exceptional story to tell. I tried on some armor that just wouldn't fit,
so I went to the brook and further fortified my grit. I picked out five smooth stones
and placed them in my bag, ran to the battlefield to interrupt his blasphemous
brag. He compared me to sticks and cursed me by his gods, threatened to feed me
to the birds of the air as all the philistines nod. But I didn't come here to
hear his spin, I came here to fight, as with Him I always win. For before I had fought against a lion and a bear,
I knew going against a giant my God would again be there. You come at me with
sword and spear, but your victory is not one people will hear, for I come in
the name of the Lord of Hosts, prepare for your funeral, your life is toast. I
took out my sling and stone and ran to draw near, the Philistines were laughing
until they lost what they held most dear. Their courage had faulted as the
stone sunk in, the stone hit its mark and broke through the skin. I didn't
waste time as I took out his own sword, I cut off the giants’ head as the armies
of Israel roared. They chased and
plundered as their faith was restored, while I bagged up my trophy, remembering
the reward.
God, who true is faithful to His Word, will never forsake you, so don’t
be disturbed. For the giants will come but
they are not meant to stay, put them on notice that you are not there to
play. Declare the Word, which is the Sword
of the Spirit, stand bold in your faith, loud enough for the enemy to hear it. The Word will make impact and knock the enemy
out, it’s time to get out of fear and remove all doubt. We will all shout for joy when you are
victorious, looking to future battles that, through Him, will be even more
glorious.
